The Úrsula López Flamenco Company will present the show Comedia sin título. La danza, el baile y el flamenco en la resurrección de Federico García Lorca, premiered a few days ago at the Jerez Festival to a great reception from critics and audiences. “The company showed their skill, timing and purpose. It is clear that we were facing one of the most emblematic ballets in the current repertoire”, El Mundo; “a complex spectacle, overflowing with nuance and with just a pinch of the poet's essence”, El Diario de Jerez. In a hostile land, under the rule of the same people who murdered the poet, the work of Lorca survived, among other remnants of the flamencos; This work reviews flamenco from within and from exile, which was built under Franco and also in exile. In this staging, "pure" dances, from Gades to Farruco, coexist with the dramaturgy that in their time brought, with the help of Lorca, flamenco to the most avant-garde stages in the world.
Úrsula López presents this show as a continuation of “El maleficio de la butterfly”, which she staged while leading the Andalusian Flamenco Ballet, which she presented at the Quincena in 2022, to great success.
